The movement for the emancipation of the Niger delta (MEND) has again struck two pipelines in Rivers state supposedly belonging to Shell. They gave their reason to be to retaliate against govt actions on the area and their opposition to the Niger delta summit. MEND has become the most outspoken of militant groups in the area and i'm begining to wonder if they are actually a militant group or just a political organisation taking responsibities for the actions of others. The ongoing violence in the South south is really disturbing and i don't think it would do any good to the people if they continue to behave like this seeing that the President is not ready to tolerate any criminality in the name of campaigning for a better Niger delta
