The world cup is around the corner again and I'm talking about the 2010 FIFA World cup that is held every four years in a selected country. After a lot of campaigning and lobbying, the ball finally had to rest in SA and this appears to be the first time the world cup is being held in this country.
The tickets are on sale right now at the FIFA sites and the south African agencies in charge. It is said that hotels in SA have already been fully booked and tickets for the event is already getting scarce. A lot of people visitors may have to secure alternative accommodation by the time they arrive and may also get tickets at a higher size on the black market.
The World cup event next year is expected to be the best Africa has ever hosted as sites have already been prepared and a lot of organizing is still in progress. The event is expected to bring a lot of revenue for the nation and dignitaries are expected to grace the event. Lots of people would also be glad to be able to capture the great Mandela who helped his country to regain freedom from white colonists and apartheid.
Soccer is really seen as an embracing sport and as one that unites different people from across the world and it would really help Africans to reunite and also let the world deliver the needed aid required for Africa to fight poverty effectively.
