Christmas is upon us. In a few weeks, we will hit the 25th day in December.
Truly speaking, 2009 has been a tough year for may people's and nations. There is the global recession on one side, then the increasing terrorism, the nuclear Iran, growing religious tensions and yay, we've got the new Pope Benedict the 16th calling for Christian renewal across Europe.
It has been like 2009 years in the year of the Lord (A.D.) and every year, Christians have taken importance to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christians see Christmas as the celebration of the Christ, his coming into the world to become man's saviour. They see Christmas as God's gift of himself to man.
Christmas has indeed become a time of global celebration but somehow those who don't know it's true meaning seem to be celebrating it differently. Has Christmas become materialized and belittled as a time for celebrating Santa Claus or material gifts. I think it should be seen more a kind of spiritual celebration, that Jesus won for us more of the spiritual gifts and a second chance.
The 25th of December is upon us, how would you celebrate Christmas?
