Looking for hot paying jobs in Naija? Then I would suggest looking for jobs in the following sectors;- Banking
- Oil and Gas What classifies a job as hot and what makes it not? Well, for most people, it it the basic pay that matters. There are a lot of Naija undergraduates who are looking for just about any job, just to have a head start in life and for them, sticking to a 8 - 5 pm job for as low as N40,000 per month is acceptable in the first few years. A time comes when the need for a higher paying job arises for these professionals and these jobs are what I classify as Naija hot jobs.
The kind of job that a job seeker takes just to satisfy his immediate need and not for the long term is definitely not a hot job, since there's hardly any extra change for keeps after making the necessary expenses.
Suppose then one has a job offer that would earn him as much as N400,000 ($2500) per month, then that can be classified a hot job since it mostly offers the person abundant income for savings and investment. The individual is unlikely to leave that kind of job and is mostly wary of others who may try to take the job from him and since he is highly motivated, he seeks to do his best on the job since he would want to keep such job for the longest time possible.
Naija hot jobs are hard to find and when available, is mostly taken by internal staff and close friends of the company.
I mentioned two important sectors in Nigeria which offer the best hot paying jobs and these are:Banking:
We no longer have small banks in Nigeria since they've all moved up. Naija banks are big now and are contributing to the growth of the economy. The big 24 can now afford to pay their employees good salaries which are comparable to salaries in developed countries. Start up pay for employees have moved up to N150,000 ($1000) per month and experienced staff earn as much as N300,000 ($2000) monthly and I'm not just talking about Top level Managers and staff. There's a lot of rush to getting a bank job now in Naija but most undergraduates don't know that it would only be good for their career if they studied a banking related course like Accounting, Business Admin, Insurance or Law.Oil and Gas:
No doubt the Oil and Gas industry is hot cake for the Nigerian economy and govt as well since it's the mainstay of the economy. Naija is hugely blessed with abundant natural oil and gas resources and prominent companies from the US, China, Italy, France and the UK. Oil companies like Chevron, Shell, ExxonMobil and Agip are all in Nigeria making billions of dollars yearly from crude oil trade. The sector has been affected lately by violence in oil producing areas but it still remains a very profitable and high paying sector for the companies and employees as well. Employee benefits have actually increased with the increasing violent attacks against the industry and reportedly pays much better than banks. This sector is quite good for Engineers, Geologists, Chemists, Quantity surveyors and Environmental scientists. Hot jobs in the oil and gas industry reportedly pay as much as N300,000 ($2000) per month for entry level graduates and the earnings go higher as the level increases.
If you are still looking for Naija hot jobs, then you need to acquaint yourself with sufficient information about the job and company and boost your CV with the right credentials and requirements, submit resumes online and apply for a category of jobs. There are a lot of jobs there that may not be advertised but you get informed by insiders within the company in focus. Couple of sites where I suggest you can find the latest jobs in Nigeria
