Picture: (Left to Right - Eugene Ezekwueche, Ms. Uche Ekwunife, Emeka Etiaba, Ralph Nwosu, Peter Obi, Chris Ngige, Andy uba and Charles Soludo)The very first governorship elections before 2011 elections will be held on February 6 2010 in Anambra state. Already INEC is in last minute preparations for the election which is expected to help redeem the commission's image as a result of scandalous past performances which have been plagued with numerous court cases and historic removals of fraudulently elected public officials by elections conducted by the same INEC.
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) was one of the political parties that have benefited from due court processes that eventually crowned Peter Obi as the true governor of Anambra state (Home for All) and has appeared to be a very popular party in the South East. There is an perceived apathy towards the ruling PDP which still desires to conquer the entire southern region but has been facing strong opposition from PPA, APGA and the AC.
There are a couple of aspirants with competitive qualities who are capable ot becoming the next governor of Anambra state but we have three of them I would consider really strong contenders as a result of their personalities combined with their political platform;
- Peter Obi for APGA
- Chukwuma Soludo from PDP and
- Andy Uba from the Labour PartyWho becomes governor of the state after February 6 elections remains to be seen, but personally, I would love Obi to continue. Vote in the Poll
