Sms is the word when it has to do with sending that quick short message to a contact.
We've had the GSM revolution and it appears that we've had the best of it but really SMS (Short message service) is becoming to Nigerians what twitter is like to Americans.
SMS is good and it is a more affordable and quick way to send messages to your family, friends, business partners or clients. You can't imagine how many text messages are sent daily in Nigeria as it is a more efficient and reliable way of connecting to your contacts. The good thing about sms is that it will always go to the designated recipient whenever the person's phone is switched on.
When making a call on MTN, Zain, Glo or any other telecom network, chances are that it may not reach the destination, phones or devices may be switched off and so you may not be able to connect with the other person, but with an sms, it will be stored by the said network and will finally be sent to the receiver whenever he is ready to receive it. At the cost of about N5 to N10 it is way much cheaper that making calls which go for at least N30 on mobile networks in Nigeria.
An sms is quick, short, reliable, economical and a more direct, formal means of communication.
Sms is good on its own, but what do you do when you want to send thousands of smses to people for the ff possible reasons
Apart from the major networks available in Nigeria, you could equally get bulk sms service from other private providers like www.web2smspro.com or www.expressbulksms.com. This comes with an operating platform from which you can send bulk messages. The important requirements are that you have a list of the contacts and that you compose the messages. It is quite easier than sending the same message to one and then a second and later a third person manually.
Bulk Messaging saves time and you should take advantage of it.

How can I send bulk sms from a Samsung phone?
Re: Bulk sms - The way to go Posted by Fatia Yusuf on May 21, 2010 at 13:29:07: It's true that sending bulk sms can be cheaper than sending the same text message one by one. That takes too much time. The question then is, how do i add all the contact phone numbers on a list to easily send the sms at once. Is there a software these Nigerian bulk sms resellers offer to do this without stressing with my phone?
Re: Bulk sms - The way to go Posted by Felix Okoli on May 21, 2010 at 13:31:34: @Fatia, teh best way to find out if to first give them a try. I believe they do this online, once you have an account with them, all you need to do is compile the list. I think you may need your phone software for that too.@Etim, what you need to do may already be in your phone manual. You need to first create a distribution list with your samsung phone and then create the message and send it to the list. Without first creating the list, it may not send as bulk message.
