Now you can never get lost - that is what Nokia has to say about their latest digital ovi maps that comes as a phone application.
The good news is that is no longer going to cost you anything to navigate with the Nokia Maps - It is now free Forever!
When Nokia Maps first came into Nigeria, it came with a free 30 days subscription after which you will start paying for its services particularly for navigation, but now, the great thing is that it is now free as long as you have the suitable Nokia device. Here's a full gist about the Nokia Maps:
I am really happy that Nokia is offering this service for millions of people across the world for free and it can be helpful in letting you know how best to navigate from one place to another if you are driving, walking or cycling.
You will never get lost - that is what Nokia has to say, although it is still being updates to include some streets in Nigeria such as in Lagos and Abuja. However, you will find details of already popular streets and places on the Nokia maps.
Supported Phones:
Most smart Nokia phones are supported but let me give you a proper list according to the Nokia website -
- Nokia X6 32GB
- Nokia X6 16GB
- Nokia 6370 classic
- Nokia N97 mini
- Nokia N97
- Nokia E72
- Nokia E55
- Nokia E52

How to download the Nokia Maps for Nigeria:
It is quite easy just as you would download any phone apps to your phone.

- Connect your mobile to your computer with USB or Bluetooth in PC Suite mode. You need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on your computer.
- Download Maps to your desktop or an easily accessible folder on your computer.
- Install Maps using Nokia PC Suite e.g. double click on the Maps installer file. Finish the installation on your mobile.
- Maps starts automatically after it has been installed on your mobile.
