This may seem like a strong display of his capacity as the number one authority in Nigeria, Acting President or would I say president until Yaradua returns, Jonathan Goodluck has dissolved the Federal Executive cabinet. This cabinet includes the ministers who have been appointed mostly by Yaradua at the start of his reign and they have now been removed in order to give way for fresh blood.
Talking about fresh blood, a lot of that still lies in Jos where Fulani herdsmen are not relenting in killing innocent women and children and I hope that Jonathan's assumption in taking control of Aso rock would put an end to this and at least tell us that someone is in charge of Nigeria.
Funny enough, I saw our Jonathan loyal honourable minister announcing this on CNN this morning and I said, perhaps she still has a place in the new cabinet.
When Jonathan Ebele Goodluck first set up the PAC, I guess I knew he was expecting to sack some ministers but I did not know it was all. Some members of the national assembly had earlier written to Jonathan urging him to retain the status quo and not remoe ministers and this came with strong words - I knew Ebel would go ahead and do what they warned him not to do becuase he doesn't seem like one who would let himself to be intimidated.
Well, it was a good thing that he let the cabinet go, at least to appease the minds of Nigerians who have been for long confused about who really was in charge. Now let's hope there will be peace and progress in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Amen.
