Much to the disappointment of some people, Jonathan did not just disrupt the so-called "status quo" by dissolving the cabinet, but he did not waste time in select a brand new crop of ministers for his new cabinet. Except for about 7 former ministers, the remaining 14 or so are new. Funny enough, I did not see Akunyili's name on the list that he presented to the NASS yesterday.
Jonathan's act reminds me of a cartoon character I liked watching called "Johnny Bravo". He is a cartoon hero that is known for bravery when the time comes. He's loved by everybody although he may have enemies at times. Jonathan also has that kind of bravery and exhibited it when he dissolved the cabinet in the first place, but what about Dora Akunyili, who supported Jonathan taking full authority initially when there was confusion. Is there something in the offing for Dora? Is she going to take over INEC after Maurice Iwu? Is she going to the EFCC?
Perhaps Dora Akunyili is going to get a better offer after leaving her ministerial slot cos I don't think she was not included in this new list for nothing.
Well, here is the new list which the Acting President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan presented to the National Assembly yesterday and I hope it sails through smoothly;- Nuhu Somo Wya
- Josephine Anenih, wife of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih
- Godsday Orubebe
- Sanusi Daggash
- Fidelia Njeze, once Minister of State for Defence, later Agriculture
- Labaran Maku (journalist and former deputy governor of Nasarawa State)
- Adetokunbo Kayode (who was attorney-general until last week)
- Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi (former Minister of Youth Development)
- Ndanusi Alao
- Prof. M. K. Abubakar
- Navy Captain N. S. Olubolade (a former military administrator)
- Suleiman Bello
- Bello Adoke (SAN)
- Chris Ogiemwonyi
- Murtala Yar'Adua
- Nduese Essien
- Umaru Aliyu
- Abubakar Sadiq
- Olusegun Aganga
- Josephine Tapgun
- Adamu Maina Maisari
- Chukwuemeka Nwogu
