The world is coming to South Africa. Did I hear you say when? Well in 2010. Precisely in June 11, just a few weeks from now. What really bothers me is that the first match has not yet kicked off and the Super Eagles have already lost a whooping $250,000 due to irregular change n Hotel plans. Who booked for the hotel in the first place and who is responsible for making this last minute change? Why did they not consider what will happen later on? Or were they not qualified to make the booking in the first place?
Well as the world goes to South Africa, many tickets still remain to e sold. It is reported that although a lot of tickets have been sold, there still remain a lot unsold. This has been partly attributed to the global recession as well as the distance of most fans flying to Africa unlike in the pat when the world cup was held in Europe. Perhaps they would later have to buy tickets from the black market if they do come later.
You can buy tickets for the South Africa 2010 world cup here FIFA is a bit worried that the event may not be as profitable as anticipated however for those who will be there, it will be the best experience in football history.
This is the first time a the FIFA world cup will be held in Africa, although the U-17 world cups have been held in Egypt(1987) and in Nigeria(2009).
South Africa is already prepared to host this maiden edition, having set everything in place many weeks before the D-day and this event would definitely bring a lot of patronage to small businesses, fan stores, hotels, eateries and tourist spots in SA. When events such as these hold, people use the opportunity to travel and mix with other cultures. It is not just for watching football. Going to South Africa during this world cup could really change your lives forever. With a FIFA world cup, you don't have to travel across the world to know and meet people since you could meet them all in South Africa this June.
The FIFA world cups also comes with a lot of promos such ass video games. Perhaps in the past, they said games were fr little kids but now even adults play games like the FIFA 2010 on Sony PSP and Playstation. I tried it several times and it was very exciting. It is like for every cup, there's a video game that comes with it, like a new version. FIFA Games, mostly promoted by EA Sports, includes participating countries and players and it bets really tough when you play with competition online or offline. I am expecting this to be the best world cup ever and wit an African flavour. South Africa, please do us proud.
