Have you been a your current job for too long that it not longer satisfies you. Is it the money that's causing you dissatisfaction? Well, it probably is.
Why don't you start thinking proactively and improve your current income.
Of course there are several reasons why a person's current job would not be giving him that total satisfaction and some of thee could include:'- No promotion in the company
- No sufficient time for leisure
- Your boss is suffocating you
- No room for career growth
- No room for maximizing your skills
- No salary increase for years
- Getting married and want a more decent job
- Salary is not enough to pay for expenses
- Peer pressure In Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs, we are told that people have varying degrees of needs such that when one has been met a higher need arises.
Here is a quick view from the needs theory: 5. Self Actualization
4. Esteem needs
3. Social needs
2. Safety needs
1. Physiological needs Suppose you are already earning say N100,000 and you discover that your university mates are earning as much as N400,000 in another company and yet work less than you do, even though you still work at times on weekends, you could definitely be feeling dissatisfaction. Perhaps you have gone above physiological needs and safety needs and just want to start making more money as a result of social needs. You want to belong and easily relate with your peers - You are looking to improve your current income as a result of Nigerians. That's Ok but what you need to do is to inspire change. Change can only happen if you invoke it. Change is more of a reaction to your actions rather than an action happening independently. While there are not many Nigerians who are looking for a better paying job because of social needs but rather physiological needs, the bottom line is that a lot of people wish they could earn more monthly income.
How then do you improve your salary, is it by getting a better paying job or what?
Probably Yes! Leaving your current job could help you earn more.
Here are a few of my tips on getting a good paying job in Nigeria:1 - Resign from your old job
2 - Renegotiate with your current employer diplomatically
3 - Invest your current income on small businesses
4 - Add more years by remaining at your current job
5 - Improve your qualifications with current developing skills in the industry
6 - Learn a lot about Computers
7 - Do job hunting on the internet and through customers while keeping your current job
8 - Ask for a promotionWell those are my few tips on how you could secure a good paying job in Nigeria. If you have more you can add it here

I don't think you are in Nigeria, quiting a job is not an option in this country because you are not guaranteed to get a new job even in a year.
Re: How to get a good paying job in Nigeria Posted by Felix Okoli on May 22, 2010 at 07:53:11: I see your point there. Of course it is safer to get a job offer first before quitting your job, the more important thing is not being afraid that you can't get a better paying job. It's important for people to get rid if that fear and know that they are worth more than their current job.
