I think this is just more than luck, it's more like destiny. Maybe Atiku Abubakar would have been wishing; "Lord, why not me?".
This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that a vice President is becoming president in a civilian regime. The other time I remember a second in command became number one was after the assasination of Murtala Mohammed, then it was Obasanjo's luck, now the time appears right for Jonathan.
Goodluck became governor after Alamieyeseigha was removed from office, now he is becoming president after Yaradua has been absent from duty.
There had been numerous public pressures and campaigns by civil rights to remove the president from Office due to either ill-health or undue absence from the country as "we do not want a President in diaspora".
The Senate has finally decided and annointed Jonathan Ebele Goodluck as acting president until the president returns. He will be president and will have the full powers a President has in executing his functions.
Here are Jonathan's words;
Perhaps God must have been working through Obasanjo to support Jonathan for Vice President in the first place.

I am deeply humbled and honoured by this great call to duty. I am fully aware of the responsibilities reposed in me, and I want to reassure all Nigerians that this is a sacred trust which I shall discharge to my fullest abilities
Perhaps God must have been working through Obasanjo to support Jonathan for Vice President in the first place.
