There has been different faces coming up showing their interest in becoming the President of Nigeria after Jonathan's tenure is expected to have expired. Although it is rumoured that the seat has been zoned to the north, it is not official yet as that would be unconstitutional. We stil have noble men throughout Nigeria who would do well in Aso Rock. Who do you want to become the next leader? There is also a poll above, click on the most appropriate person you want to become the number one citizen. If your have someone else in mind, list his name here as a second poll would be set up after this one for names that were not included.

Posted by Umar Abdullahi Bojude on May 15, 2010 at 07:11:11: General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) should be our next Nigerian president. this is simply due to his genine patriotism, degree of honesty, dependability and uprightness. His level of truthfulness and straight forwardness was demonstrated in all his dealings. Both his leadership style and political approach over the years has been characterised by his earnest, fank and open mind which signifies that he is the only politician that "truely" and "truely" has the common man and the entire country at heart. He is therefore the ideal leader our dear country cannot afford to miss.Remember that "THIS GENERATION AND INFACT FUTURE GENERATION HAS NO COUNTRY THAN NIGERIA. LET'S STAY AND SALVAGE IT TOGETHER.

Otherwise, I'd like to see people like, Dora (first female president), Pat Utomi, Femi Falana go for it! From the North? My pick would be Nuhu Ribadu.

Posted by mercy on May 21, 2010 at 04:41:39: from the genesis of this country's leadership ladder, every body that came out for any political post has been one nighmare or the other to this country's disssolution. they have either embasseled, stolen, diverted or have dragged this country's image to the mud or even come openly to state that the have-not Nigerians are counted not to be Nigerians as such denied their national rights. i dont think anybody is good enough a president for this nation because they are thesame persons in different form.l

Re: Who should be Nigeria's next President in 2011? Posted by Christopher Richard on May 23, 2010 at 19:40:53: Nigeria's been strugling for decades,Almighty God has intervened let Nigerians wait to see what God has in stock for us.Our dear president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan never aspired to be president, if he did its probably a silent prayer which was granted by God, a lot of notable Nigerians to mention but the least like our late Chief M.K.O Abiola died while pursuing a mandate of an Election that the whole world saw as the most free and fair election Nigeria has ever had in June 12 1993. He never lived to see his dreams and aspirations come to true. Goodluck Jonathan should be giving all the supports needed from the North, West,South and East to take Nigeria to another level. Let us bear in mind that good things could emerge from Nazareth. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria, long live our dear president Goodluck Jonathan.

2. To consolidate the Democratic Change that is unfolding. He is fast becoming a symbol of democratic change.
3. To ensure the country stays united. The deprivation, marginalization and degradation of the Niger Delta over the years must be assuaged by this divine visitation.Doing otherwise will unleash a new wave of hostilities.

Re: Who should be Nigeria's next President in 2011? Posted by Fortune Riman on June 02, 2010 at 21:30:36: We are tired of the old re-circled politicians, old wine in new skins, spent forces who have been in leadership, failed us woefully and made our lives miserable, men who have nothing more to offer, and nothing more to prove, except to illegally enrich themselves, their families, their bootlickers, alteregos and lapdogs, impoverish us and flaunt their bloated egos around. We need dynamic young men, with new vision and ideas, honest patriotism, who have the interest of this country at heart, and are broken by the cries of the poor, men like American President Obama and our own Goodluck Jonathan. This is time for a change. The wind of change blows in Nigeria and none can stand in it's way. Dare and be crushed.

Is time nigerians start throwing stones at this men in rallies and public place to make them understand how we feel.I hope jonathan should proof him self this time to nigerians, we,ve always given trust to leaders and they end up "fuking us in the ass" excuse me . I rest my case till then.

The value of Naira was equal to all currencies. There was respect among the working class citizens, Traditional rulers as well as masses repect the law of their dear coutry. I therefore have confidence on him that when my dear Parents, Brothers and Sisters could give him another chance i believed that he will restore all the respects Nigeria lost in the eye of other Nations
