It's all politics and I say it again, it's all politics. You can't really tell the identity of these our leaders when politics comes to play. Herod and Pilate became friends when they mocked Jesus during his trial. Strange bedfellows can suddenly become friends because of politics. I wonder what deal Ojukwu did with IBB that would warrant him giving public support to IBB. Although I seem to understand that a man like IBB is someone you can do a deal with and he keeps it. They say he believes in chop I chop, but what gift did Ojukwu accept that he is now publicly campaigning for Babangida after telling Ndigbo that his last request was for Peter Obi to return as governor of Anambra state. Ojukuwu truly still has political influence in the former Eastern region and has a strong following. I guess, when it comes to politics, newspaper enemies can suddenly become friends or friends of convenience.
What happened to the cry for Igbo presidency? If IBB returns as president will he leave office after a 4 year term or will he willing to die there like Murtala, Abacha and Yaradua? The rate at which old men in Nigeria cling on to power makes one think that after that there is nothing better.
I agree that IBB has a right to come back as President of Nigeria, to campaign and desire to be elected into an office that he once occupied. But power is not everything and I am only advising that he leaves it for another younger person like Sambo or Jonathan.

strange! strage!! strange!!!. but its the usual thing for we nigerians to sweep truth under the carpet abd sell out birthright for a piece of cake. afterall who no wan chop national cake. both of them in this regard are cankerworm ready to devour national resources (chop -i - chop syndrom)that's exactly what has left us in this present predicament of GOVERNMENTAL POLIO and the vaccine is to kick them old cargos out and erradicate them totally for their thought are not of good but of selfish agrrandisement. WE NEED YOUNG LEADERS WITH FRESH AND YOUNG THINKING FACULTIES TO TAKE THIS COUNTRY TO A BETTER HEIGHT.
Re: Ojukwu campaigning for IBB Posted by lando ezekiel on May 22, 2010 at 07:24:26: One of Nigeria's Icon said it all that in poltics there is no permanent enemy and no permanent friend. IBB has the right to run and Ojukwu has the same right to#support him. Thm military boys have a fratanal bond and can understand each better. Second the former Easterners/Westerners are not ready for a Southern President so Dim Ojukwu is simply firing the first shot about what to come
Re: Ojukwu campaigning for IBB Posted by Emeka on May 29, 2010 at 09:46:23: It is unbecoming for an elder stateman of an Igbo extraction like Ojukwu to give IBB support come 2011.
Re: Ojukwu campaigning for IBB Posted by Nwaoha Francis Chukwudi on June 19, 2010 at 05:05:27: Ojukwu has the constitutional right to suport a candidate of his choice. IBB is not as black as he is painted. I would like to advice IBB to carry youths along in his administration as he is most likely going to be the next presedent of Nigeria. The elder are the ones who made the mistake that endengered the health of our economy. it is the same elders that can correct the mistake. This i gues may be why IBB said the youths are not qualified to rule Nigeria. The youths can rule. IBB can contact me by this e-mail for advice on how to go about his presidential bid -- modachr@yahoo.com
