This is awkward. Who advised Jonathan to make such a decision? Banning Nigeria from not playing international games for 2 years will not help our team to grow. We may even perform worse at international friendlies. If it was for another reason, then maybe it would make sense, but just because of a poor performance in South Africa, this ban may turn the Super Eagles to ordinary chickens.
Ordinarily, I felt dissappointed with the way the Nigerian team performed at the first African World cup, the world even thought that Nigeria would be the only African team to reach the final, but alas, all African teams didn't reach the second round with the exception of our tiny neighbour - Ghana.
Maybe it would bring some sense back to the NFF or the NFA - I don't really know which is in charge of our footbal team again. But one thing is certain, Lagerback ought to be relieved of his job.
Our problems started even before the world cup began, when someone made a wrong hotel booking for the Eagles in SA which was later rejected and we lost whooping non-refundable $250,000 due to irregular change in Hotel plans.
If Jonathan is suspending their outing for the next two years because of their numerous financial recklessness, their dismal performance and in consideration of the present economic slow down, then it's a good thing. But what I think that outhg to have been done is a total restructuring of the Super Eagles team with the coaches. We need to sack a lot of our so-called coaches and get newer and fewer ones. We also need to drop the idea of foreign coaches. Finally, old players must go and injured players must be suspended for 2 years too.
