In what appears to be a U-turn from Jonathan's earlier sanction on the NFF and Nigeria teams from participating at international events for 2 years, the presidency has issued a reprieve for the teams after the NFF had issued an apology as well as to be abel to beat FIFA's deadline for Nigeria to revert that initial order.
I had thought that the initial suspension was ill-advised and would only attract FIFA's penalty as well as water-down our game. So this is a good decision and thank God that we are in a democracy not dictatorship which would have seen Nigeria's government trying to rule with an iron fist.

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday rescinded the two-year ban he slammed on the country from participating in all Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) competitions. The U-turn followed an unreserved apology, which the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) tendered to the President and Nigerians over the dismal performance of the Super Eagles at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
