It was like a party convention and even before the right time, crowds were already trooping to the Eagles square at Abuja.
It is all politics and the attraction that it brings and it was on this stage that Nigeria's former military leader formally made a declaration to become President in 2011.
He had already began his campaign but today's own was official and then there is a website at www.voteibb.org where you can get to read his manifesto. IBB and his group are really serious about winning the 2011 election. It appears that this is no time for backing out or letting another Yaradua take his stead. This time he really means business.
It was like a party's convention although, IBB has not finally decided on which party to run but I'm guessing this is necessary to show to his intended party that he he's a value added member.
The political declaration at the Eagle's square was covered by Africa Independent Television (AIT) and even the NTA and it was aired for many long hours.
If IBB decides to go with the PDP, it may not be an easy task when considering the likely intentions of Atiku and Jonathan. If he goes to the ANPP, he may only have to contend with Shekerau and perhaps Buhari if the latter decides to come back. I think a more challenging option would be to form a new party like the Tea party in the US who are currently winning a lot of seats at elections. However, it is already too late for form a political party and I'm wondering, perhaps IBB's campaign would be made easier if a party's Chairman endorses him as candidate.
