Airtel Nigeria Manual Configuration for Nokia
If you have a noka phone connected to a GSM network, chances are that you might need to use it to access the mobile web and for that, it will have to be configured for mobile browsing. You need to install some gprs settings on your phone and this can normally be preconfigured and sent to you from your network provider. You may also configure the settings manually for your phone and for Nokia, it is quite straight forward?".
Steps to manual configuration for Noki phones on Airtel
This can work for other networks, you just need to replace it with your provider's settings if it is not Airtel Nigeria.
- Go to Menu --> Settings
- Select Configuration --> choose Personal config
- Go back
- Go to Personal Config. Settings and select
- Click on Options and select Add new --> web
- Under account name, put Airtel GPRS or whatever you like
- Under home page, enter http://airtellive.com or whatever u like
- Username =
- Password =
- Under use preferred access point, select no
- Select Access point settings
- Select Access point settings, enable Proxy
- Under proxy address, enter 10.199.212.002
- Proxy port, enter 8080
- Select bearer settings
- Under Packet data access point, enter wap.ng.airtel.com
Alternatively, you can get the settings sent directly to your phone if it can receive OTA messages. To do that, just send "internet Nokia 5330" to 232 without the quotes.
Now save those settings and make sure that you have some airtime credit in your phone. You should be able to browse the internet after setting it up
