Yesterday being Sunday, there was a couple of suicide bomb blasts reported in Southern Kaduna and the attack was targeted at several churches. The number of people who are reported to have died as a result of the blast is over 20. It is suspected that this was an attack by Boko Haram, a terrorist organisation sect that has claimed major bomb attacks against Christians in northern Nigeria and has declared war against the Nigerian republic. This recent attack was made on 3 churches - Christ the King catholic church, Shalom Church of God and ECWA. The suicide bombers were not as successful as they might have planned as some were caught and killed but some bomb blasts his some victims mostly at Shalom and ECWA which caused more violence as youths made reprisal attacks on suspected Muslims in the area raising the casualty figure to over 35. The Kaduna state government has already declared a curfew in the state which has been suffering from religious violence for a period of time now. The worst thing is that when tragedies like these happens, women and children are the most casualties. When will terrorists ever stop this evil?No person or group has claimed responsibility for the recent attack but it is mostly suspected to be the work of Boko haram due to their historic antecedents.Kaduna has been a hotbed for religious violence and it would be a hard job to keep peace there especially with the likelihood of reprisal attacks from the two divides. Let's pray for Kaduna
