Sincerely speaking, having leaders from other political parties emerge as President is too scary however having a PDP candidate as president is more preferred. Imagine if it was Buhari from CPC who eventually becomes the President, Christians would not really be at ease and southerners would say he is too pro-north or a terrorist plan to enslave southerners. Now imagine also if someone from the ACN wins and becomes President, northerners would not be at ease with it because they would say it is pro-Yoruba and even Christians too will say, it is full of Muslims and may have an Islamic agenda to impoverish Christians.
Now imagine if Jonathan is confirmed and becomes Nigeria's next president, I am thinking many people would gladly accept and say carry on, even for 2 terms as long as we already know that they wish the best for our country. Jonathan's rise from poverty to fame is inspiring and a true test of democracy and PDP probably made the best selection of candidates by choosing people who both represent the core south and north. We have Sambo from Kaduna as VP and Jonathan from Bayelsa as President, what better combination can that be?
The truth is that in general, Jonathan Goodluck is actually the most trusted candidate and also despite the recent electoral results and surprises, PDP still remains Nigeria's most trusted party when you consider our differences as a nation. CPC would probably do well in core northern states and ACN would probably do well in the former Western Nigeria, APGA may come fourth in terms of their performance but PDP would stil probably have the largest portion of the cake when the general elections for 2011 have finally arrived.
If Jonathan Goodluck eventually wins the crown for this time again, I am thinking Nigeria would eventually be on a much stronger path to economic growth which will be a good thing for West Africa and Africa as a whole.

The desired change in Nigeria would continue to elude us.let us remove religoius, ethnic sentiments and vote tested candidates whom history has shown their excellent leaderships and stood by their words. let us not be deceived by capitalists whom by nature at their levels are one irrespective of religion or tribe but at the same time, at the lower level (grassroots) use religion, ethnicty etc to decieves the ignorant electorates. let us be aware!
Re: If Jonathan wins the 2011 Presidential election Posted by Ekpalek Umana on April 13, 2011 at 12:45:10: This has nothing to do with religion, some evil people are still manipulating the situation to preserve their loot and loot more. I bet Nigerians, Nigeria will be worst in the next 4 years because Jonathan cannot perform when people like obj who supervised the mismangement of 16 b USD and Tony Anenih who mismanaged 300 b as works minister not to mention others are kings in Jonathan's cabal. Nigerians you had an opportunity to salvage the nation but you were misled by Jonathan's propoganda funded by your resources.

May the toil of the Nigerian people come to pass with that election, like those of the Israelite under the rulership of Pharaoh (Amen).

Re: If Jonathan wins the 2011 Presidential election Posted by Nigerian on April 16, 2011 at 11:51:12: Your analysis is shallow, immature and myopic to me. You seem to be a victim of information manipulation. Please read the history of your presidential candidates before you make assertions. I would go with Engr Babatunde, may the Almighty God, the Lord of Abraham, Moses, jesus and Muhammad give us a leader that is the best among all the candidates and may the Lord guide him to move Nigeria forward to the place we ought to be regardless of which part of Nigeria the candidate comes from and the religion he believes in. May all well meaning Nigerians say Ameen/amin to this prayer. God knows best.
