The elections were held today in Nigeria with relative peace and tranquility. Elections were held is almost every ward except for states that were suspended by the courts. It seems that a lot of new voters joined to queue today unlike last week's NASS elections which witnesses a much lower turnout.
In the South, where I voted, it seems that Jonathan Goodluck from the PDP is most favoured to win the elections. From Port-Harcourt to Lagos, we could hear people in the news at polling stations chanting Goodluck Jonathan. At the place I voted, I don't still get what they mean by secret ballot but everyone that voted before me(about 10 - 15 people) were all thumb printing at the lower section of the paper and that is where the PDP logo was embedded. I think PDP may even win in Lagos with the way everyone is voting for the party. It seems that the most die hard voters for Jonathan were the Easterners living in Lagos which included the Igbo, Efik, Edo, Ijaw and other southerners. Even Yoruba people and some ACN supporters were all voting for PDP just for President. I hardly noticed anyone thumb printing at the top section where ACN logo was located. It's already a few hours after the elections, I heard that PDP has won at about 3 wards. I guess in Lagos, the chant seems to be "Fashola for governor, Jonathan for President".
I think Nigerians don't really vote according to party lines when it comes to elections but rather for persons that they trust.
I think with rigging or no rigging, Jonathan would most probably win this election in grand style and the results may be better than what we had during Yaradua's win.
Now the election is over but what remains is the results. INEC when will the results be ready. I hope you guys will hurriedly release this one so that we can look forward to the future. I guess some results will start pouring from news stations within 24 hrs.

I think it would mostly be in favour of Jonathan. It is only some radicals and Okada riders in some northern states that wil vote for Buhari but the South, Middle belt and some northern states will definitely give Jonathan the win he deserves.
When God wills, no man can unwill.
Majority of Nigerians want Jonathan to win and I just don't know why Buhari wants to be president again, he should know that Nigerians now wants change and majority of voters across Nigetia are the young people who no longer want old faces.
I hope that Buhari will accept the final results and honorably retire from politics because he will be 70 years by 2012. We need to start moving forward and not backwards.
