Hate it or love it but it seems that there is some sort of growing love for Buhari in the north. Although some people may say that this is probably the last we will be seeing Buhari as a presidential candidate since he is going to 70 years and above the age for public office, but the thing is he may still be in politics as a sort of Godfather or King maker such that anyone he blesses is blessed and anyone he curses is cursed.
I am not exactly a fan, supporter or close ally of Buhari but discussing about the Buhari effect on Nigerian politics can be exciting. Now with violence and demonstrations going on in the north and in especially CPC newly formed strongholds, it seems that the man is transforming to a god and is being kind of worshipped. Why else would it look like people are killing, burning and maiming in his name? Why would people demonstrate in his name?
If people who killed and spilled the blood of other people did so for the sake of Buhari, it must probably be that in their eyes, he has turned into a god and they adore and worship him. What greater sacrifice would a man give to his god that is much higher than human blood, fire and smoke?

The reason why Buhari is being honored to such extent is due to the fact that he is the only one among all the presidential candidates who seem to be more concerned about the welfare of the Nigerian masses and the devt of the country at large

Re: The Buhari Worship - Making of a god Posted by IBB on April 26, 2011 at 22:25:55: Buhari is not better then other presidential candidate, the north want him because of his religious fanaticism. No more no less.
Re: The Buhari Worship - Making of a god Posted by on May 24, 2011 at 15:53:01: He is inconsistent in his principles. He says this today, tomorrow he does the opposite. He is definitely hiding something from nigerians. You will see, soon all his worshipers and followers will switch to something else just as their leader.
