June 12 1993 is a day Nigerians remember and commemorate every year as it was a day we remember Nigerians were denied or rather delayed their right to free and fair election after the late politician Moshood Abiola had won in a landslide victory. We might not know the exact details of what happened behind the scenes during this dark period of Nigeria's democratic history but we do remember one thing - We suffered for Democracy and the man at the center at that time sacrificed his life.
It was not easy going from Military to civil rule but the events of this month in 1999 helped Nigeria move forward during the transition, rather than backwards. We should not forget the heroes of our democracy and one of them was MKO. What do you think of June 12? What are your thoughts?
