On a Sunday, St Rita's catholic church Ungwan, Yero in Malali Kaduna was bombed by a suicide bomber and in the process, about 8 - 15 worshippers have been reported killed with several others injured.
This is not the first time a Church in northern Nigeria would be bombed as the region has been under a series of anti-Christian violence spearheaded by Boko haram. Although the terrorist organisation has not made any recent claims of attacks since and more especially as there has been an improvement in security by the JTF. It happened on a Sunday mass inside St Rita's catholic church in Kaduna, a northern state which is traditionally Muslim but with significant Christian population. Kaduna has had it's own share of violence by terrorists for a while now during Nigeria shaky civilian administration. It so happened that as Christians were praying to God, a suicide bomber tried to gain access by driving a bomb laden car into the main building but was denied by security but afterwards decided to crash into the wall of the church and succeeded in bombing and killing innocent people. The town of Ungwan, Yero in Malali was highly tensed as residents scampered for safety for fear or reprisal attacks. In the bomb blast, it was reported that about 8 people have been killed and over 100 people were also injured, some of whom have been hospitalized.May God take control of the situation.
