I think this works for people mostly located in cities like Lagos and Abuja and I guess other places would be included soon.When it comes to online shopping in Nigeria, it's not only clothes, shoes and books that you can order online. You can now even order for food online and it would be delivered to you within an hour depending on your location. As for how fresh the food would be, I don't know but they do offer home deliveries of your favourite food and from your choice restaurants.I just decided to write this review about Nigerian websites where you can order for food online and as at the time of writing this report, I got two of them.One of them is www.lazyappetite.com. This is a website that allows you to order for food in Nigeria and from restaurants or food outlets close to your neighbourhood. Lazyappetitle doesn't exactly prepare the food themselves but help you in delivering it for a fee.When it comes to payment options available at Lazyappetite.com, you can pay on delivery or add credit to your account using GTBank deposit. Their card payment options are also in the works.For locations supported by their logistic services, Lazyappetite.com as at the time of writing this post only supports major towns located only in Lagos state like Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja, Ikoyi, Isolo, Lekki and Victoria Island.To start ordering for food online in Nigeria using Lazyappetite.com, you'd need to get registered first with your email address and mobile phone and then verify your phone number. For making orders, you can always order for food after your mobile phone has been verified and logged in to your account.
Adding food items to your cart is easy after which you proceed to checkout and see your total charges before finalizing the order. After ordering is successful, you will be given an order code to be used in receiving your order and then make payment on delivery.I just ordered for Shawarma using Lazyapetite.com from Southern Fried and the good thing it that you can set the time you want them to make the delivery. Just want to see how it goes.The second site one can use is www.naijaeats.com. Naijaeats also operates only in Lagos for now and supports deliveries to towns like Surulere, Ebute-metta, Iganmu, Yaba, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Lekki, Mushin and Victoria Island.With Naijaeats, you just search for listed restaurants based on your location and then see what they have on menu with their prices.As at the time of writing this report, Naijaeats doesn't have as much listing ofo restaurants as lazyapetite.com has and as I tried making an order through them, the payment option has not been working. I guess it's still undergoing some reconstruction. So it didn't allow me to checkout.Naijaeats seems to have more local foods than lazyapetite.com does but they both seem to work with the same concept and allow payment on deliveries for Nigerians who prefer not to make use of their cards. I don't know quite yet if they accept cash or POS payments on deliveries though.Why bother ordering for food online from these websites? I guess, there are some benefits to be derived from ordering for food online but I wouldn't encourage it if you were hungrily waiting for it. Timing may not be perfect!Some benefits of shopping online for foods include:
=======================
- Not having to stay in queue at restaurants for food
- Not having to drive and meet traffic or road officers
- Avoiding the stress involved with physical shopping
- Saving cost on transportation and other shopping distractions you may eventually pay for.
