It came at a time when US politics was heating up and with Obama mostly being on the defensive and Romney on the offensive. It came at a time when a growing number of Americans had started losing faith in Obama as the recession bites harder.A lot of Americans are without jobs despite the jobs report and a lot of them still have to contend with home repossessions and health insurance and a whole lot of other troubles which the US recession have brought in. It was not a good time for Obamaism. It was as if they no longer believed in "Yes we can". Then came Hurricane Sandy that has surprisingly helped Obama by slowing down Romney's growing campaign steam.President Obama didn't do as good as Mitt during the first presidential debate which many say was won by the republican but it now seemed that nature was on his side as Sandy brought catastrophes which allowed the president get more favouritism by acting fast to send relief to affected states in the USA. You know, a national disaster is one thing that can help a president regain public love if he acts fast in helping the needy by sending relief and this Obama is already doing and all that may have helped him get back some respect after what seemed like Romney's unending punches on his failed promises. On the other hand, Sandy has slowed down Romney's campaign trail to several states and he's already trying to make up for it at a time which was already late.A recession is indeed not a good time for someone to become president as Obama inherited a lot of negative economics when he became president. Although his administration has worked hard to create jobs and help the economy get back on it's feet, there are still a lot of aggrieved voters who may not want to give him a second chance. Who ever though that 4 years could be a short time?If Obama wins the presidential ticket again today, he may have to thank God who sent Sandy, albeit, as a distraction to the Romney campaign who was already bent on burying the incumbent. If Romney wins, then the Democrats may find out that they could lose more voters in the future. Personally, I still think Obama would win even though I crave for a Romney win.
