Recharge cards and why we need them

A recharge card is a card that allows one to add credit to a service he normally uses. The credit allows the person to pre-pay for the service in order to have access to using it.Every recharge card comes with a unique Personal Identification (PIN) and it is meant to be a single use card i.e It expires after each use.Buying and using recharge cards have become a way of life in Nigeria as it is used for most things in daily life such as topping up airtime credit, renewing pay tv subscription, adding credit to prepaid electricity meters, register for online exams or even pay for school fees.Recharge cards are readily available to Nigerians from local vendors, ATMs as well as the internet. To buy a recharge card, the buyer would need to make cash, bank transfer or card payments after which he would be issued a card.These cards are more popularly used by gsm subscribers on networks like MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat. It serves as a means to load airtime credit to their lines in order to keep making calls or sending text messages across their network.
