Nigerian media has reported of a deadly attack that happened in a Mosque during prayers in Kano and the terrorist attack has left a lot of people dead with some hospitalized. It was a Friday and faithful Muslims in Northern Nigeria had gone to the Central Mosque in Kano for their usual religious prayers to worship Allah. Unfortunately, there were also evil men among them whose mission was to kill and destroy them during their holy hour and place. It was reported that 3 suicide bombers were in the Mosque and were successful in detonating the bombs which they were wearing and this lead to the killing of many innocent people. There were also armed men waiting outside to attack and kill worshippers running away from the scene and this only resulted in more deaths. They were conflicting reports about the exact number of casualties with reports ranging from 70 to 120 persons dead. The worst thing is that the terrorists succeeded at doing so much evil while the police or army were nowhere to be found during the attack. The terrorist attack is believed to be the work of Boko Haram although there has not been any claim by the group which has publicly claimed responsibility for the killing of many Nigerians in the northern region. The deadly attack leaves many Nigerians worried as people no longer feel safe going out or going to public places and many have even fled their villages and remote places to migrate to other places where there would be more police protection and presence of the Federal government.Terrorist attacks in Nigeria have mostly been focused on religious places and many worry that if an attack like this could take place during a regular Muslim worship, what then would happen during a big religious celebration like Christmas or Sallah? Some Nigerians also believe that the attacks really has nothing to do with religion but mostly the work of politicians to get rid of their opponents and then blame it on Boko haram. Boko haram has mainly hit headlines by attacking Christian centres and places of worship during Christmas and it is likely that they'll do so again even this year. Both Christian and Islamic leaders have condemned the attack and called it a grave sin against God for killing innocent people and also dishonouring a place of worship.
