Pro-Biafran protesters made good their threat to also hold protests in Lagos, Nigeria's former Federal capital and arguably the most populated state in Nigeria. The protest was led by the pro-Biafran group named Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).Lagos is home to the widest variety of tribes in Nigeria and is regarded as home to many people from the former Biafran and Eastern region. You'd find the Igbos, Efiks, Ijaws and Edos all living in Lagos because of it's commercial nature.Despite last minute calls and warnings by the ruling political party, the APC and some Yoruba leaders, the Biafrans braved the odds and came out in large numbers to make their protests heard in the South Western state today as part of a 2 day protest that would end on Thursday the 17th of December 2015. The only Yoruba group that publicly supported their peaceful protests were the Oodua People's Congress (OPC).The protests began from Alaba, Lagos with plans to reach Mile 2 and also visit several Embassies and High Commissions in Victoria Island and Ikoyi axis of Lagos state. The Pro-Biafran group marched on with supporters carrying the proposed flag of Biafra. The flag is made up of red, black and green colours with a yellow print of a rising sun in the middle.
