For Chris Ngige and the APC, the Anambra election was a test of how the good people of Anambra feel about the newest political party and Chris Ngige.Compared to the incumbent's favourite and winner, Obiano, Chris Ngige was a relatively more popular and old face, having being a governor before and under the platform of the PDP. His administration was however cut short after a court ruling in favour of the APGA candidate Peter Obi after sufficient evidence was found that the elections were rigged in favour of the PDP.However, due to Chris Ngige's performance during his short reign as governor, he seemed to have done some good work which endeared him to the people of the state particularly in local govts and senatorial zones which voted massively for him.Chris Ngige would have won the Anambra election if he was able to win the hearts of Anambra people as a whole rather than just a section of the state. Here are some reasons why I think that Chris Ngige and APC lost the election:- APGA was solidly on ground and averagely doing well for the people
- APC was a relatively new party and people were not ready for change yet.
- Chris Ngige publicly supported Fashola's deportation of some people to Anambra state
- Ngige did not have the same campaign strength as Obiano who was supported by the incumbent governor
- APGA has grown stronger
- PDP might have also supported APGA indirectly
- Chris Ngige was in the wrong party
