Every Nigerian can live a better life in a society that is free from corruption and that's why all hands must support the anti-corruption war in our country. The purpose of an anti-corruption war is to end corruption and this may normally require bringing corrupt people to justice but it won't be a wise move if people are brought to justice through a corrupt platform. You can't fight corruption with corruption because the end result will still be corruption and then future leaders would have to start again at square one.The war against corruption requires that the country should have honest and disciplined leaders who will not even lift a finger to save their relatives who have engaged in corruption during public service. There has been a couple of Nigerian leaders and Presidents who have shown their support in fighting corruption but some of them have at times shown that they are not really free from corruption since their war is normally directed against their political enemies while it turns a blind eye to those who support them. A true anti-corruption war ought to be free to persecute even your closest allies.A selective fight against corruption may probably weaken's one's political enemies but it would not yield good results in the long run by the time more people come to realize that it is one sided and not a full or genuine campaign against corruption.A selective anti-corruption war may yield some benefits for a sitting government but those benefits may be soon lost if those in government are corrupt themselves and so the best way to win a war against corruption as well as sustain that victory is for the government to start the war from the top by ensuring that those in office are actually free from corruption. Those in public office ought to be corruption free in order to be able to truly win the war against corruption. The best way to fight corruption is not to make it selective but by making it open so tat anyone who is suspected to be corrupt or dishonest would be brought to book.
