Overpopulation is a situation when the number of people living in a particular area exceeds the resources available in that area. It normally happens in a place where there is little or no population control. When human beings have more children than their environment can sustain, it leads to a struggle for the little available resources. In the Middle East of today, there are a good number of countries with a huge population and yet scarcity of jobs. When the jobs that are available in that country is far less than the number of active young people, it can lead to a crisis as young people can take up arms and start engaging in violent protests and crimes. There is nothing wrong with growing your population but when the government doesn't make good plans on making resources to be sufficiently available for the present and future population, it may soon find itself struggling to maintain peace in such a society. A growing population needs adequate planning by it's government and that's why some governments like the Chinese prefer using population control as a tool for maintaining an equilibrium.Overpopulation was probably one of the causes of the Arab Spring that drove some Middle Eastern countries into war. When a good number of young people find it hard to raise their own families because they can't find jobs or have capital to start up a business. They soon see nothing else to do other than hold public protests against the government for not planning well for them and that can result in more violence. Protests by mostly youths in Syria led to a civil war which has torn the country into many parts. There were also protests by young and unemployed people in Egypt because the resources were not sufficient for the growing population and all this could turn into a bigger problem for the future. the Egyptian protests led to the killing and arrest of innocent people and eventual toppling of the President Hosni Mubarak by the Military. Many families in the Middle East as at 2015 had to cross the sea to get into Europe for the sake of survival because they were unable to find peace in the countries as a result of civil wars and some of them even died while doing so. Why did they want to get into Europe? It was simply because they couldn't find peace in their home lands as their society did not exercise the right population control or planning to guarantee peace. They had to migrate go to European countries like France and Germany which welcomed them with open arms but they also had to limit the number of immigrants they could accept and that's because their society has a good population control system. It's a good thing for a family to decide to have children and plan for their future but it's not a good thing to have many children when you don't have any future plans to raise them up. In a socIety where there is no population control or planning, there is normally a struggle for the little resources available and that can lead to anarchy.
