Namadi Sambo, the governor of Kaduna state had been nominated as the Vice President by President Jonathan today. Initially, there has been a lot of lobbying groups which were presenting different names of people who were most likely to become the VP, but funny enough, Sambo was not mentioned until finally Northern governors put their support on their fellow colleague - Mallam Namadi Sambo to occupy the office of the VP. Looking into the background of Namadi Sambo, one would find him to be an educated person. He is an architect by training and an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.
Nigeria's new Vice President also has website at www.namadisambo.com and probably a facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/namadi.sambo.
Now everything seems set for the Jonathanian presidency with a new VP on hand and a new cabinet to work with. It id funny the way the speculations played out over who will take over the seat of the VP:
Some suggested names were Ribadu, El Rufai, Yerima, Markarfi and so on but Sambo was the one who finally came out. Since he will have to move to Aso Rock, his seat as governor will now be given to his deputy governor - Patrick Ibrahimwho will be sworn in shortly after Sambo's confirmation. When Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa becomes governor, it would probably be the first time a Christian would be governor of Kaduna state in a democracy. Governor Namadi Sambo became governor of Kaduna state in 2007 under the PDP platform. Born: 1952 He is married with six children, has neutral power base and an ally of former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida who has officially expressed his desire to become Nigeria's next president. In the mean time. it has been reported that our famous governor, Onanefe Ibori has bee finally arrested in Dubai with the help of Interpol.

I thought Jonathan would act like this. I know he would not want to chose someone that could turn stubborn or be a stumbling block. Sambo will do well as Vice President and even President when the right time comes
